PASTELS-COLOURS OF LIFE
PASTELS- COLOURS OF LIFE
Pastels are
the so-called dull colours, but I have fallen in love with these. It is so
pleasant to the eyes, it doesn’t catch people’s attention instantly, but it
does eventually! That’s the catch!
These colours
are bright, if you want to see the world through your own eyes. Be it the
beautiful cushions from Jaypore..the lovely kurtas from Saatvikei..the pretty
dream catcher from “Inheritors”..the matte nail colours from Maybelline..the
dew-dropped hibiscuses from my garden..the floral wallpapers by Sabyasachi and
the list is endless.
There
used to be a time, when I was attracted to bright colors only, but over a period
of time, I realised it is important to be noticed amongst the unnoticed. You
need to stand out unique. I went back in time and thought about this. I knew
why I was attracted to the pastels.
I
grew up reading fairy tales like most girls of that age did. I never imagined a
life like that but it used to be a cosy couch or my bed I sat on and had the “feel
good” vibes. I don’t seem to understand the underestimation and ‘laugh-it-off’
attitude towards these tales by young boys and girls now. There is an essence
of positivity and a silent wait for happy endings in these stories. No one has
a perfect life, but reading these brings a smile on your face and a moment of
happiness to even those who think everything written here is silly.. The
messages in these tales carry a lot of worth and if you are true to yourself,
you will undertsand it. It appears, kids these days already have a social
circle to please and a society to move with. The innocence is all buried deep
inside them. It is important to teach the kids to think about themselves and
stand out as an individual, to influence the world. In the name of silly, the
importance of appreciating effort and the purpose of writing is lost. Why do
kids have to grow up so soon..? This just means, they are already in the path
of impatience and restlessness and will later fall under the category of people
finding the path to happiness through some money-making Gurujis!!
Look
through my eyes..I had a dream..
The
pastel blue made me think of the elves with a shoe.
Those tiny fellows added value
to the shoemaker’s life. No matter how unnoticed they felt, they didn’t stop
adding value.
The
pastel green made me think of Jack climbing the stalk of bean.
Jack badly wanted to help his
mother, and he did. If you have a strong desire in heart, not a competent one..a
heartfelt one, it will be met.
The
pastel pink made me think of Beauty’s mink.
The contentment of Sleeping
Beauty at that age is a commendable character drawn! With no greedy desires,
she stands out most beautiful from inside with just a mink over her neck!
The
pastel red made me think of little Thumbelina’s flower bed.
Her story is full of surprises,
just like what we are offered by life. When you are just about to tell the world,
everything is going perfect for me, that unexpected moment falls in, and when
we have reached the threshold of sorrow, a lightning of hope strikes!
The
pastel purple made me think of Snow White’s poisoned apple.
No matter how much somebody
wants to poison you, if your heart is pure, the poison goes down for sure.
The
pastel brown made me think of Cinderella’s gown.
We often have secret desires
like Cinderella, but they are buried deep inside us.For many, it is the fear of
society, for some, the conservative bringing up which stops them from
expressing, for some, the inferiority complex that they are not upto it and
much more. If you have her endurance and patience, you will wear that gown one
day!
The
pastel yellow made me think of mighty Gulliver fellow.
No matter how huge you are,
ultimately it is the smaller community that has to lend you a hand in times of
need. This is specially true when it comes to the disparity in society, yet we
lean upon the lower strata of people to get our work done. Appreciate and
applaud..
The
pastel white made me think of the ugly duckling to a swan sight.
People around you bully, make
you feel small, do not appreciate the positives in you, let you down and what
not.. but give them a damn and move on, for you will shine bright like that
swan and be ahead of them some day.
The
pastel grey made me think of the Wonderland prey.
There isnt always a disciplined
way to lead your life.. some nonsense is required to lighten up moments of
stress, routine and monotony. Who better than Alice can make us experience this
fantasy !
And
finally…the pastel cream makes me want to go back to my dream!!!
The
essence of life is written all over the fairytales.
Happiness
has to come from within! Human tendency is such that we need somebody else to
make us realise our worth.. and shower them with our wealth!! It is so
subjective, we rely on something or someone to give us happiness. Mostly, it doesn’t
happen so. Circumstances are such that they appear to favour others more than
they do us! We reach a deadlock if we constantly feel others’ happiness and
long to have it as our own. Happiness is when you learn to appreciate the good
in others and of course get some in return 😊. Happiness is when you lend a little part of your
wealth to the have-nots and see the silent gratitude in their eyes. Happiness
is when you share your moments of joy with loved ones. Happiness is when you
have an assuring hand in times of your need. Happiness is realising small
pleasures. Happiness may be owning a Michael Kors! Happiness is what keeps us
going, else the world would be a weeping willow..
The
mantra to happiness is, to move on, let go and live in the moment, although you
wouldn’t leave a chance to bring it up at the right moment and taunt somebody 😉

DeleteNot many can understand and appreciate colors due to the lack of perspective.
ReplyDeleteAs the famous quote goes "Life is like a rainbow, you need both Sun and rain to make it happen" and an open heart and eyes are all that it needs to form the lovely perspective.
